Photographer’s Note
It was covered and not really a "shooting day", so I was just wandering through Bruges, my camera at the bottom of the bag... When I discovered these streets with rows of "doll size houses", narrow doors and lilliputian windows, I was totally fascinated by the beauty of the place, but incapable to imagine an interesting view.
But when I passed in front of this man at his doorway, I knew it was probably going to be the only photography of the day, if only I have the guts to ask the permission... He just nod his head, but never move for the photo; he stayed exactly the same, very casual and natural. I was very happy with his posture and expression, but also the way his clothes fits perfectly with the surrounding.
During my stay in Bruges, I've met Dkeus31 for 2 days, a cool guy, calm, intelligent and a fast driver. His name should now be Dkeus34...

Yes, this is a nice shot of this man. His clothes compliment the colours of the paint. And his stance, with his hand in the pocket, he seems to have not a care in the world.
I particularly like his slippers!!!
Nice shot

Hi Andre,
A good balanced composition with the window and doorway even. The mans stance is great and natural and he does seem very relaxed and worry free. I love the details like the lacey curtains and the number 4.

Hi Andre,
This could also be taken here in Holland. The way the man stands there, without moving, wondering why this big tall guy wants a picture...very nice. Look at his shoes he is wearing. I don't no the word in English but we call them pantoffel, they are indoor shoes...wonderful detail, big smile here.
There is however a little bit of red color cast in the picture and i miss the ultimate sharpness, still using my recipe?
Whatever, the man in the doorway and his pose (and shoes) are wonderful...very nice.

You're caught by the verticalness of the scene. The huge vertical door with stairs included forced you to frame like this. I probably would have done the same... some time ago. But I don't think it really works here. It's too formal, if you understand what I am saying and he looks lost in the middle of all those verticals. To me, he seems smaller that perhaps what he really is. What I would like to see was a horizontal one, using the window, the "4" and a bigger guy in the frame. You would miss the "pantoffel" but probably the result would be better. Don't know, it's just an idea. But the guy's body language is really good and the shot is really a worthy one.

Salut André
Sympa ce monsieur de s'être laissé photographier sur le pas de sa porte! En plus il a l'air d'être à l'aise dans ses charentaises!! j'aime bien le cadrage serré de la devanture de cette maison.

So far it looks like a good trip. Composition is flawless. Love your placement of the doorway and window. Colors look good also. A portrait perfectly executed and well seen.
Great work.
Good to see you back.
