Photographer’s Note

Wherever you walk in Bruges, you'll be mesmerized by the beauty of this museum-city. Here, a simple narrow alley that probably nobody takes except locals...

For me, it was a pleasing discovery during the day, but by night, it was simply magical. It seems nothing have changed since centuries, nothing except electricity.

If Luisafonso come to see this photo, he will told me that I should have put someone in this image... Well, Luis, there is someone, but you can't see it, because it's a 20 seconds exposition. And he was running very fast to go directly in your beach scene... :-P)

With a view like this one who needs a beach ;-) The vertical frame works very well here to give us a deeper view of the street. The church spire is something I miss a lot in my city and the old architecture provide that old charm that seduces anyone. Good exposure and colours to compose the image. Thanks Andre.

This is a wonderful shot Andre. Your timing here is impeccable, as the artificial light on the cobblestoned walkway goes perfectly with the fading light in the blue sky.

Absolute perfect exposure.

Andre the lighting here in this scene is amazing to say the least. I love the thumbnail in the gallery and was even more surprised when opening this to see all the bricks shining from the lamp above. Excellent work1

Voici donc un exemple des ruelles mal famées que tu fréquentes à Bruges en compagnie de notre guide Belge préféré... et après vous allez vous plaindre des odeurs déplaisantes qui chatouillent vos narines! ;o)))
J'aime particulièrement le ciel bleu, encore bien clair et froid, qui contraste avec l'éclairage chaleureux de la rue. Ton POV met en relief les pavés et ton cadrage centré crée un bon équilibre dans la compo.
Une ville qu'il faudra que j'aille visiter un jour.

Hello André,

J'aime bien ce genre de vue nocturne. Bien qu'il manque le chat noir qui se ballade dans les rues, l'éclairage urbain sur les pavé donne un très bon résultat !
Une belle photographie de début de soirée qui aurait presque joué le rôle de Papagolfade !

Tu as trouvé le moyen d'éviter la foule de touristes à Bruges...fréquenter des ruelles que personne ne connait. Ton cadrage et l'heure de prise de vue mettent magnifiquement en valeur ce magnifique pavage. A une semaine près, on se croisait là bas....

Hi Giant,
No human element needed here, here it's the nostalgic feeling about the old city. Light is beautiful, those street patterns are just great. Nice perspective but more interesting is that small curve on the street in the background.
The light on the street does it all my friend...excellent exposure there...

Je vois que tu hantes aussi les ruelles de Belgique a la nuit tombee, la perspectice de la rue est sympa et le lampadaire etoile me plait bien, mais pour pas tout dire comme le Luis moyen j'aurais bien vu passer un tram, moi, dans cette rue ;-)

This could as well be a small side street of Maastricht, the town where I grew up. Would have been a miracle if you got this sharpness handheld. But well, if you have a tripod, use it! And you did. ;-)

Bonjour, André. Je vois que tu es tombé sous le charme de Bruges. Pas de cygne ici ;o). Par contre, une excellente perspective avec cette ruelle qui nous emmène dans l'image. Le clocher de l'arrière-plan se détache bien sur le ciel. Les pavés occupent une place importante dans l'image et renforcent encore l'aspect traditionnel de la rue. Très bonne gestion de la lumière.

J'espère que tu as récupéré de ta grippe. Console toi, c'est mieux de l'avoir bien au chaud chez toi qu'en vacances. On plus, on l'ayant en même temps, on ne pouvait pas prendre soin de l'autre.
J'aime beaucoup tes pavés éclairées et bien que tu n'as pas photographié une personne, tu as le vélo bien placé au fond

On remarque tout d même un fantôme près du vélo, mais ce n'est pas très important. J'aime bien ce ciel très clair alors que les lumières sont allumées.

SAlut André,
Lumière somptueuse qui colle très bien à la scène, ça donne un coté rétro que j'aime bcp. Le lierre du mur de gauche au premier plan est très important à mon sens, il apporte un contraste et sans lui l'image serait moins attractive, bien vu !

Ah! Ah! Ah! I do see the guy running for that bike in the back. Nice photo you have here. This time, the blue hour doesn't show those deep blues you always offer, but the sky gives a nice patch of contrast to the gloomy tones of the rest. Love that cobbled pavement. Brugge is indeed a magical city.

Belle photo de cette jolie ruelle de bruge, bien prise le soir, belles couleurs et bonne netteté, belle vue de ces superbes pavés bien placés, lampe légèrement étoilée,lierre sur les façades, bien vu et bien pris. En WS, deux photos souvenir de ce week end en Suisse.

il y a un point commun dans tes photos c'est la qualité de la lumiere , de jour comme de nuit tu arrives toujours a avoir un bel eclairage, et celle-ci qui est justement entre le jour et la nuit ne peut être que parfaite.
