La navigation sur le fleuve avait aussi ses heures sombres.
Celles des nuages du fumée et des bruits de moteurs.
Celles des échouages et des coups de vent.
Celles des ombres qui hantent les coeurs.
Celles des corps usés par les coups de pagaie.

The navigation on the river had also its dark moments.
Those of the clouds of smoke and the noises of engines.
Those of the strandings and the strong gales.
Those of the shades which haunt the hearts.
Those of the bodies used by the blows of paddle.

Hi Bertrand!
This engine would fail the EU norm.....
Good composition with the diagonal of the boat and the silhouettes at work.I like the blue/silver tones of the water.

Bonsoir,
Le contraste entre cete eau si lisse et la fumée noire agressive et les eclaboussures donne une bonne idée du trouble que peu semer cette embarcation sur l'eau si calme. La reflection donne un rythme et un graphisme à l'image très réussis.

Hi Bertrand,
the silhouettes of the men and the reflections look nice, in contrast to the cloud of the exhaust pipe.
That shows the ambiguity of countries with lower environmental standards very well.

Hello Bertrand,

Superbe timing. J'aime beaucoup l'aspect figé de l'image. Les remous très nets à l'arrière du bateau sont parfait et l'inclinaison de l'embarcation suffit à donner le dynamisme nécessaire à l'image.

Superbe compo ou réalité et reflets ce joignent pour former de beaux contrastes. Les mouvements de l'eau donnent un beau dynamisme à l'ensemble, on croit voir le bateau prendre les vagues.

Les silhouettes humaines sur leur embarcation, la fumée noire forment un bon contraste avec l'eau du fleuve qui a l'air tranquille...mis à part les quelques remous, à l'avant, formés par la barque.

Bonjour, Bertrand. Le mouvement est bien suggéré par les remous que la barque provoque. On remarque aussi la concentration des hommes à la recherche de je ne sais quoi. La fumée noire apporte du contraste avec l'écume blanche à l'arrière de l'embarcation. Une photo plus difficile qu'il n'y paraît, c'est assez difficile de faire la mise au point sur un objet en mouvement.

The diagonal positioning of the boat in the frame works very well, as does the number three (people). I particularly like the way the wake is rippling the reflections is a smooth wave. It looks as if the engine needs attention, :)

Reminds me of Henk Jacob's (oochappan) "Nightriders of the sea" photo, which was once my favourite.

I like this one very much Bertrand. The monochromatic palette is wonderful here. But the composition is also great and all the details that I can see: the smoke, the drops of water is the back, the waves, the reflection, the position of the long stick. Amazing photo!

great capture bertrand. I particularly like the gloomy colour tones. We usually see such shot in warm sunset colours, so this one is different. And the backlight is beautiful.
