Photographer’s Note

The second in a series of photos taken in the Old Market, or Phsar Chas, of Siem Reap. For those that haven't been there - it is a series of little rooms, big rooms, halls, corridors and sidewalks covered with everything imaginable that one would need for daily life. Everything from meat, dried fish, brooms, clothes, jewelry, fruit, and as seen here vegetables. All the different items are generally divided into different sections of the market.

Hi John,
I really like your shot which is so colourful. Interesting capture of the daily routine on a market. There are so many things going on in the same time, with the lady in a white shirt in the centre of our attention. She looks so concentrated into what she was doing.
In general it is very nice that nobody there took any care of you taking a photo, but I find it rather strange that the market was not that busy.

Interesting idea but next time, as a suggestion, try to focus on the girl....

Hi John,
Great array of colors seen in the very pleasing open air market. The lovely lady in white makes a wonderful contrast to those more brightly clad people in the back. I love the variety to be seen in this wonderful shot.

Hi John,
Good composition in a daily crowd market with vegetables, clothers...etc, the female hawker have a gentle look with her modern shirt, lively the hawkers talking at behind, well done.

hi john,, nice picture of everyday life, with strong colours of the produce on the stalls realy like the girl in white she stands out well against all the vibrant colour in the shot tfs
