Photographer’s Note

Everybody knows Heidi ? if not, read here,

From this page, "The books portray a time in Swiss history which was considered to be innocent and pure", in a wider sense Heidi represents original and untouched Switzerland.
Appenzell is very close to that, even though located a few kms away from the original Heidiland it features everything that builds up Heidi's environment, snowcapped swiss mountains with chalets and grazing cows, Alphorn players, beautiful and nearly untouched nature.

This view on the Heidi Trail is located in the southeastern corner of Appenzell near Wasserauen. The antenna in the background is on the Säntis.

Morning JY,
I am used to the sharpness and clarity of my 24-70 just as you i'll suppose. And seeing this i knew directly it was not the vibrance, brilliance and clairty of that beauty. Don't get me wrong, i like your photo and the viewpoint, nothing wrong with that, but the beauty of that L lens shows directly what to expect when putting that thing on...and all of that i miss here.
Maybe i expect to much, but i know you have this glass, that's why my remark on it.
As said, i like the photo, looks very idylic and your title gives it a wider impression on this beautiful landscape.

Jean-Yves, this is a great shot, the colors and detail are frst rate as always but the bright sun and deep shadow on the left attests to hol huge these mountains are. This scenery is just awesome, well seen and captured.

Hello Jean Yves, esta fotografía es fantástica, bien encuadrada, enfocada, preciosos colores. Casi nos parece ver aparecer a Heidi por la puerta de la cabaña con Niebla detrás o Copito de Nieve. Muy buena nota también. Buen trabajo.

You know what, Jean Yves, the cottage we have is right on the other side of Saentis, so this is a little my area too, and I am 1/4 Appenzellerin (my grandfather came from Oberegg), 1/4 Liechtenstein, 1/4 Zurich Oberland and 1/4 unknown. Appenzeller are very obstinate and I think this is what I am too :) This is a pretty corner here and you honored this part of Switzerland (very much unknown by most tourists) with this photo. Heidi!
Who can't for get Heidi? I practically grew up with the story! (Personally I never liked it back then, but now when more sense has been knocked into my head I have changed m mind...)

The view here can only be described as fantastic, the place it self is fantastic.
Colour and light balance is excellent, full of detail and really bringing out the true calm feeling that one simply can experience anywhere else but here.

Laïlaïti yodiyodlou ... bien sur que l'on connait Heidi . Et on retrouve ici cet aspect Suisse intemporel à bien conserver dans un beau papier argenté de chocolat ( au lait ).
Y a pas que Ulysse qui fait des beaux voyages ...

Heidi, well known but not my story. But well illustrated here, the antenna is out of time, the rest not. I like this view up to the snow with good contrast and sharpness. The leaves from the tree left work well.

You really have done good job advertising this place. I wonder if it has already turned to a tourist trap :)
The narrow road leading eyes towards the high peaks is the key element here. Great place, great weather, as already said before.

superbe cliché d'un endroit non moins superbe.
les montagne de juin est parmi les plus belles. elles hesitent entre les couleurs d'un printemps et de celles de l'hiver qui n'a pas rendu ses dernieres armes.
bientôt les sommets vont reblanchir mais ce sera cette fois pour marier les roux des melezes aux blancs des premiers flocons.

Maintentant je vois que vous êtes au moins 4 avec ces images genre South Park. Très sympa.
Beau paysage avec le chemin qui mène plus ou moins droit vers la montagne au centre. Les faibles traces de nuage donnent une belle texture au ciel. La nettété est excellente.

Ouaip, c'est de Julie Garland dont je me souvenais, ma grand mère m'avait emmené voir le film... Ahh toute une époque...
Bien vu, les maisons semblent proches de la neigne, le vert est éclatant, manquent plus que les personnages.

In my childhood, I must've read Heidi several times and later watched the anime on TV. And now whenever I'm being much too prim and proper, my best friend jokingly calls me Frau Rottenmeier! So, as a true fan, when I saw the title, I clicked on the photo at once. To be honest, the place doesn't remind me of Heidi, but the photo is beautiful, pin sharp and well composed. Congrats.

J'ai vu Heidi, et il me plaisait beaucoup dans la tendre âge! Et bien, c'st un paysage typique, ici beaucoup plus jolie ici! Le chemin fait du guide pour nous introduire dans la charmante vallée! Les couleurs sont superbes... la grandiosité et au même temps la serenité sont magnifiques! Très belle!

This is like a perfect shot of Switzerland, with those huge and dramatic mountains co-exisiting with a beautiful alpine valley and the cozy houses. I like the way you used the road to draw us right into the scene and also give this a very nice sense of depth. The colours are gorgeous too. Excellent!

This iamge brings the heidi tales aline in my mind and I can almost see her prancing and running around this landscape which you have captured with finesse and clarity. the colours are great and so is you pov.

On ne pourra jamais te reprocher de ne pas bien documenter tes photos. Aujourd’hui, tu mérites le prix de l’image contenant le plus d’hyperliens sur TE...

Je ne connaissais Heidi que de nom, mais je crois qu’il y avait un dessin animé lorsque j’étais jeune et qui ressemblait un peu à Mini Fée, c’est-à-dire, un prédécesseur des manga...

Alors je ne connais pas l’univers de Heidi, mais si tu dis que que ça y ressemble, je te crois sur parole, puisque cette image incarne la Switzerland telle que l’on se l’imagine.

Avec ta photo, tu contribues à faire augmenter la fébrilité d’un canadien sur son point de départ.

A classic shot that indeed embodies my vision of the Heidi setting from childhood. The home on the left really balances the frame, the little road meanders its way deep into the frame, and the mountains and sky have that storybook look. Olá Jean Yves, this is why I would like to move to Switzerland: to look for Heidi in this marvellous landscape. I wouldn't do the crazy trips that Bibi does, but I would be happy to walk in all the trails similar to what I see here. This well deserves the round number of 100 :)
