Workshop Note

I used an alternate method to create a monotone shot. Actually, this is tritoned, but similar idea.

To do this in Photoshop, go to Image->mode->grayscale then, image->mode->duotone
From there you will get a pop up, with a pull down menu saying duotone options. Choose the tritone option here. Next, you will have to choose your colors. For this shot, I chose black(which I always choose), a medium gray(also pretty normal for me, but I will vary it from time to time), and for the thirds color, I chose Pantone 620C. The third color will give you the particular toning you like, and it is very easy to just try different options. This is an excellent, and easy method for creating Sepia toned images as well. From here, I did have to brighten the image a little as well, I don't know what the rules are for how much, probably changes from shot to shot. I like this method because it can be done in a matter of a couple of minutes, and the effects are generally good, although if I have the time, I do have another method I use as well.
