We were staying on the edge of the Sahara in SE Morocco, and our hotel had arranged for an overnight in a Bedouin tent which they owned. We went there and came back by camel (complete with handlebars on the saddles, and VERY slowly). On our way back the next morning, I spotted this dune configuration and had the leader stop while I composed this shot from camelback. Since even an inch in one direction or another can change the shot completely, this would not have looked the same from the ground.

I made minor corrections to the shadows, but the hard part was the sky; I simply could not get the shade I wanted. When I finally gave in and bought Photoshop CS3 (I had been using Elements), I was able to get this color with the Replace Color adjustment. It looks perfect in the print, which is how I make my final judgments, but it's close to that on the screen.

I pushed the contrasts and applied a blue coloration filter to the sky, how far to go is a matter of taste, but this gives an idea of what can be done
