L’église Saint-André, XIXe siècle.

Il reste peu de chose de l'important édifice roman, agrandi en gothique, modifié à la Renaissance, ruiné par les destructions des guerres de religion en 1588. Restaurée, puis reconsruite en 1685, elle fut endommagée et utilisée à des fins civiles et militaires à la Révolution française de 1789.
L'église actuelle fut construite de 1855 à 1863 par l'architecte niortais Segrétain.

The Saint-André church, XIXe century.

It remains little thing of the important Roman style building, increased in Gothic, modified with the Rebirth, ruined by the destruction of the wars of religion in 1588. Restored, then rebuilt in 1685, it was damaged and used with civil and military purpose during the French revolution of 1789.
The current church was built of 1855 to 1863 by the Niort architect Segrétain.
