I'm curious Muhammad why you chose to include yourself in this photo? I have met many heroin addicts in North America who work & are considered maintance users. It's usually poverty & social conditions that cause the attributes that so many of us see on the streets. What is the situation in Pakistan?

I have seen this festival in Singapore and understood that participants were paying tribute to their deceased family members or strong wishes for a happy event(birth) in the coming year. When the piercing actually accurs they are in a meditative trance (preparations of months) and supporters dance & sing loudly in order to distract the honoured participant from his/her wordly pain. Wonderful shot Luko and timing of a difficult situation to shoot.
