    Hello Tiffany,
This is a very nice and well composed photo. It is beautiful. I would like to offer a suggestion if you don't mind. If you photograph a scene like this again, try stopping the aperture down to F/16 and adding a circular polarizer or a neutral density filter. This will enable you to slow down the shutter speed and create a blurry effect for the water and it would give you more depth-of-field which would sharpen the trees in the background. You would need a tripod for this technique. This would give this excellent photo of yours a different rendition. Sometimes the softer effect of the moving water gives this type of image a more compelling rendition. This is an old photography trick.

This is a simple, tightly composed and utterly gorgeous shot! Good job of exposure and not cluttering up the composition with unecessary limbs and other details. I am very impressed with this image!

    Hello Denis,
This is a wonderful photo. You have captured the traditional dance (I am sure that these costumes are native to this particular part of France)beautifully and I love the expressions on the dancers' faces. The background architecture tells us something about the character of this area. Very impressive photo!

    Hello William,
This is the first critque that I have done on TE in over four years. I like the high angle of this photo which gives us a good sense of this attractive building and the beauty of the Riviera. Your photo makes want to go here someday. Good work.

    Hi Tom,
Wonderful shot of this restored old covered bridge. This must be one of the finest covered bridges in the USA. I have only see one covered bridge in my life and it was in Oregon. It was no match for this beauty, however. Beautiful portrait of this architectual masterpiece! (Covered bridges, barns and fire engines are supposed to be red).

    Hi Kath,
You have the most unusual African Safari travel series that I have ever seen. I wasn't expecting to see a seafaring image. This is a great shot and and excellent addition to your series and an outstanding job of mixing up your wide variety of subject matter. You must be a very well rounded and versatile person to have taken such a diversity of subject matter. I believe that our personalities always show up in our photography. I am sure that you have some more surprises in store for us!

    Hi Kristaps,
When the storm clouds clear in Ecuador the lighting is fantastic! The air is so clear there with no sign of air pollution at all. A very good composition with great lighting. Ecuador has about the strangest climate that I have ever heard of and your travelogue has made me feel that I have already visited this country. This travelogue of yours and Kristine's is my favorite Trek Earth travel series of all time!

Fantastic B&W white image of these awesome peaks! Your photograph has an Ansel Adams feel to it with the beautiful contrast and your marvelous composition. Hi Ton,
I just found this spot on the atlas. A fairly remote spot and surrounded by a lot of water. I am licking my chops thinking of all of the delicious fish that is caught in this area. You created a great shot with your very clever composition which gives your scene a very good sense of depth. Including the rocks in the foreground was a great idea. Marvelous image of this lonely looking but beautiful fishing village!

    Hi Shelly,
I am glad to be of assistance anytime. We TE photographers need to share as much information as we can in these changing times. I know from experience that photographing several dancing couples in the same frame is one of the ultimate challenges for us dance photographers. Any good photographer can get closely cropped shots of just one dancer, but group shots are much, much more difficult. Unless the dancers are part of a highly controlled and very precise choreography, these type of images almost always fail. You did a great job with this dance image and I like the different, but effective poses of the three couples. It looks like they are performing the same maneuver from right to left, in sequence. This is a very tough shot to execute and you did an outstanding job IMO. You have good instincts and a good sense of timing which is about 75% of the battle. Well done!

    Hi Pat,
This is my last critique of the evening. I am about ready to call it a day. I have read how trecherous climbing the mountains that you mentioned are. Sudden blizzards can ocurr even during the summer months and this can create life threatening conditions even for the most experienced mountaineers. The amount of annual snowfall that accumulates in this part of the country is just staggering! This is a marvelous photograph with simple but highly effective composition. Well done!

    Hi Pat,
Your scenic of the Eastern Sierras looks a lot like our Colorado Rockies. This looks very much like the scenery in Rocky Mountain National Park, as a matter of fact. This is a pretty good sized beaver pond and I'll bet that there are some nice trout in here. You created a beautiful shot and the framing by the nearby branches adds some depth to your image. Great shot of this beautiful spot!

I remember the Santa Ana winds very well from living in Santa Monica, CA. I can never forget the blistering heat and the relentless winds. Your composed this image perfectly and you captured the Zen of surfing beautifully. The strongs winds added some great drama and lighting for the crest of the waves in your photograph. Outstanding!

    Hi Kristine,
I would love to be this young woman just hanging out and relaxing on this bench. I am beat from all of the photo shoots and from my day job. I am saving up my annual leave for this Summer and I haven't taken a day off work since the first of the year. Sometimes I think that people who live in less developed countries are smarter than we are, who reside in the "more advanced countries". This is a great shot and a good antedote for our stressed out lifestyles. Outstanding photograph!

    Hi Pat,
This rugged looking gentleman makes me think of Captain Ahab (a more benign version) for some reason. He has face expresses much character and courage and your notes proved this to me. I believe that God has a special place in his heart for people who are kind to animals. This gentlman has a special place in Heaven reserved for him for taking care of his buddy Henry. A marvelous portrait!
