I'm not sure what an LP filter does but whatever it is, it looks great. I love the sky and varied colors. Also the silhouette of the trees in the distance. At first I thought they were animals.

Beautiful shot. I like the framing and of course the girl and her expression is what really makes the photo so appealing.

Interesting story. The shot itself is not so interesting because it has no focal point and doesn't tell the story on its own. But I'm always happy to see photos from my old haunts.

This is a busy photo but I like it because there is a lot to see and you could look at it 100 times and still find something new.

Really good perspective and the water distortions turn this into an "impressionist" shot. Having been bored by TE for a long time, I'm enjoying looking through your shots.

I never saw a Greek (or Italian) statue holding skiis before. :) I like this rear perspective. A shallower DOF (to blue the background) would have been better.

I like this... it looks like an alien planet even though it's probably just a wall. Is the orange tint natural? In any case, it works well. Good DOF and I like the diagonal angle also.

I love the effect, although quite a bit of post processing I would suspect. As a graphic, this is a great creation. That shadow plying against the textures at the top - nice.

The coloring is so blue it's unnatural but I like it. Very artistic. It makes the boat looks like it's covered in ice.

know the place well - from my childhood holidays!

Where is the red/white stripey tower?

To be honest, I only remember Sandymount when the tide was out - so this scene is not so familiar. I recall acres of sand in which to make sandcastles and images - it was such a fun place. Thx for the memories!

A delightful story about your parents (despite your slightly sad tone towards the end), and a beautiful picture of them in the WS! So charming and full of l.o.v.e.!

Looking forward to seeing 70th anniversary shot next year!

I actually wrote a critque on the image - somehow it all seemed so irrelevant so I deleted it!

This is interesting - I didn't like the thumbnail, but I clicked anyway. I was really very warmly surpised by the delicacy of detail.

So, what didn't I like? I thought the tree was too central. In a way, I still do, but the detail is so exquisite that it is less obvious to me - I get lost (in a good way) in the outlines, and the colour is so rich that I find it harder to criticise.

The other appealing aspect is that sharp detail offset by the very unsharp sky. The cloud formation provides a great contrast.

I did copy this picture and played with cropping. I found that having the tree offset to the right got me to a place where I was happy. You are the artist though, and due respect for your interpretation of the scene - and hats off to a fine picture!

Incredibly eyecatching shot! It is one of those pictures that evokes so many ideas of what is going on inside the frame. I love the motion and framing.

I'm so glad there is no note, any explanation would have destroyed the imagination being used to workm this one out!

I like it in many ways (it is a very warm shot), but not one. The groom has one foot outside that circle on the carpet and it makes me feel that he has one foot already outside his marriage. I'm sure I'm wrong, but.....

I fixed it in the workshop.

Sometimes I get very bored on this site and disappear for weeks (months?) on end. I come back to see if I can find something new to make me think about taking pictures differently and occasionally I see something inspiring. Please don't misunderstand this as "I know so much that I can't learn anymore", it is just that I am on the periphery and an experimenter as opposed to a really good practioner (the good practioners are the people who regularly post good images here).

So the last time I got knocked off my chair was July 2007, when I saw this shot. Today I saw your one and thought "yeah, there are so many ways to present a view" - and I am refreshed!

Is that driftwood or an animals skeleton in the background? Just curious.

It wasn't until I came to Japan and started learning Japanese that I understood the roots of Rickshaw (人力車). Always wanted to ride one!

I love the long shadows and the lack of their heads. Normally this kind of incompleteness drives me crazy, but here I like it.

    B&W is a good choice.

Wow - amazing capture. It looks fantastic. The colours in the water are beautiful.
The whole scene has a sense of drama, except the guy casually standing there! Kind of a funny contrast.
    Nice one!
