Nikon has also the same feature,and I always have this option to ON,
it works from an exposure longer than one second,
at ISO 100 I notice hardly any noise no matter how many seconds...

You are right about the picture yesterday but it was too big for beta.Trekearth (3000 pixel the longest side) and because I use the beta version of TE,it was a bit unpleasant in my opinion :)

why ISO 100 and not 800?
because:the less ISO the less noise,
and whether you choose 2sec. or 15sec. you need anyway a tripod,
well,if you used tripod,then you may chose the best options :)
