Re: To rosaline: 3D

Ondrej
The depth of field could have been greater but the look and feel of the shot is great all the same. As a work of advice. When taking night shots try and have a dof around f11 and stick to...

Hi Kath
A few points that I have picked up from numerous sources along the way:
1. With the D200 the pictures are softer and it is recommended that you do not sharpen them in camera or in post...

Re: To rosaline: night shots

For the filters, I suggest using a ND to even out the light and a polarizer on top to give extra saturation. Photograph the arcade before it gets too dark. Arcades are murder to photograph, so start...

Re: To rosaline: night shots

Hi Kath
Firstly, congratulations on your D200. It's a big beast so you will have to do a lot of shooting to get a handle of it. I'm sure you'll come up with some goodies.
I use white balance cloudy...

Re: To rosaline: Thanks

Hi John
As you know I use the Nikon system. The pictures on TE from the Canon 5D are excellent. But then, any of the top of the range SLRs will give excellent results if used properly. I find ISO...

Re: Nikon 18-200mm lens

Hi Mark
If convenience is important to you, then purchase the lens. It is pricey but you get the convenience and comfort of not having to change lenses. As you probably realise, I don't use zooms as...

Re: To rosaline: your latest

Hi Kath
I decided to withdraw the picture as I was not too happy with the PP work. I think I needed to do some more work on the levels. It was something that was nagging me since yesterday. The shot...

To alana: D80

Hi Alana
Don't buy this camera. If you have a D70 or D50 this is more than enough! If you want to upgrade to serious quality then a D200. The D80, as Jean has said, adds not extra value or quality....

Re: To nwoehnl: A question

With the D200 you shouldn't get any noise at ISO 1000. I've tried this for recent shots and it is noise free. It all depends on the lighting of course, but I think it is possible at even this high a...
