To cam: rotation

Hi Charles,
Thanks for the critique! I thought about doing that actually. And if you turn your head to the right it looks funny too. My main reason for not posting it upside down was because of...

Re: To singuanti: Hi Steve

Paul,
You did a great job with the stitching. Do you have a true wide-angle lens? On my vacation I used my Tokina 12-24 for nearly all of my landscape photography like this. I would throw the...

Re: To singuanti: Hi Steve

You see this issue in the forums from time to time. I only have a few hi-res shots so I never have the problem. But from what I heard all you need to do is remove old hi-res shots you don't want...

You just need to delete old panoramas that you don't want to keep anymore.

To devimeuxbe: tri-pod

Hi Bertrand,
Thanks for the critique! No tri-pod is needed at that shutter speed with my Nikon's VR. I can go down to 1/8th second at just about any focal length and expect a good result believe...

Re: To singuanti: AF-S

JP,
Hi thanks for letting me know what you thought about the lens. My 70-300 AS-S VR focuses quickly but it's not that bright since it stars around f 4.5 I think. But in the daytime it would be...

Re: To singuanti: Well Good Evening

I think the amount of DOF you had is fine. I can see why you might want a tiny bit more but you do have the most important part of the scene in focus.

Have a good Sunday!

To nwoehnl: rotation

Hi Norbert!

Thanks for taking the time during your honeymoon to critique my picture from Jenny Lake. I knew there was a little bit of unevenness in my horizon but I was hoping no one would...

Re: To singuanti: vacation

JY,
I think the US is 50-50 generally. Most of my friends shoot Nikon because I was able to talk some sense into them, lol! It seems like in Canada 90% of the people on TE seem to be Canon. The...

Re: To singuanti: vacation

JY,

Nikon just took the lead a few months ago. I heard last year that Nikon was gunning for the top but I really didn't think it would happen.

I have a funny story from my time in Grand...

Re: To singuanti: vacation

Thanks JY,
The weather in Grand Teton was perfect everyday but when I was in Yellowstone usually half the day would be perfect then the other half it would rain or get super overcast.

Re: To singuanti: Filters

Alvin,
Thanks for all the great advice! I already had a Tiffen grad ND for my 18-200 VR but not my Tokina. I just bought screw-on polarizers for the Tokina 12-24 and 18-200 last week and they...

To plimrn: the remote controller

Hi Pat,
Thanks for the critique. Yes it was expensive at $130 from B&H Photo but it made all the difference in the world. I needed precise control over my shutter on that night and normally that...

Re: To singuanti: Hello Stephen

Paul,
I do the same f setting all the time and find that I get the same sort of massive DOF. I like to put my camera in Aperture mode and just park it at 8 when doing landscapes.

I will...

To PJE: slanted lake?

Hey Paul,
Thanks for the critique! I see what you are talking about. I have a feeling we're looking up lake at something of an angle to the shore and that is causing what we're seeing. If...

Re: To singuanti: Well good Evening Stephen

Yes it does force you to get creative with the compositional possibilities. If I were to get one of those it would probably be something like a 28 or 30mm.
