To ryno: Thank you!

I'm not much of a photographer for shooting "live" events, particularly at night. But I tried! Hopefully by next year, I'll get better at it.

Thank you for your comment!

To Emiel_Skyfreak: Thanks, and you realize the problem --

Sometimes the photo you have to include to "show" a place simply isn't good enough to begin with. Bad weather, bush where you wish there wasn't one, etc etc. Mainly, too short a time to set up a...

Re: No, I didn't know it!

I've been posting here for a couple months, but still finding new and wondrous things.

Thank you so much for the tip!

Re: Oh, Satisfaction!

Thank you, Cato! That really was helpful!

Watch out, TE -- Panoramas, HO!

(Though the one of the township which is 6 meters by one meter in the original, sadly, simply won't work).

To sendogan: Sharpness --

I'm becoming a bit sniffy about sharpness on TE -- everytime I sharpen and sharpen, and I swear the original is sharp as sharp can be, but when I reduce the quality to fit into the TE guidelines, I...

Re: Cato, come back!

I was about to post the same question about Panoramas.

I understand the normal TE pixel posts, but what the H is a "manage tab" and where do I find it? The panorama gallery seems to have its own...

To hamerek: Thanks!

You've improved the contrast on Olympos -- something I had little patience for. But this photo will probably find itself in a guidebook, so I'll try to do the same as you did, with even more...

To Davidwh: Why thank you, kind sir --

I'm quite proud of the fact that I tried some finishing procedures on this shot that I learned about on TE. Layering using an unsharp mask -- while the original was very good, much of the softness...

Re: It can't be quite that simple --

-- though I wish it were.

I take photos of rocks. I see things in those rocks, and I come up with a photo that shows those things.

I've been out with pro photographers of great talent and...

Re: So many of the really excellent TE shots --

--So seem to combine all four. All I can do is aspire.

For me, at least I'm lucky in getting time out there to make photos. The skill in the guidebook and rock photos is to make obvious in the...

Which photo do you take?

No, I'm far from a professional, but I seem to publish a lot of photos in tourist and science guidebooks. So my experience is pratical, and I appreciate learning more skills here at TE.

My...

To Mondaychild: Thank you, Gisi...

I get the chance to take these photos for work, but our schedule doesn't allow us to exchange sun for rain, spring for fall. Whatever shots I get, I've got to use. Not always easy!

To Becky: Olympos has its moods --

I can see the Thrones of the Gods from my office window -- on a clear day, which seems fewer as years go by.

Even living so close, it's rare to find a day to get clear shots. Recommend the road...

To MDL: I never mind --

--and it's a good suggestion. I thought the tree would aid the frame, but I think I like it cut out.

Thanks,

To lucipher: Thank you, Ianni --

I'm sure you've done plenty photos at Plastiras yourself.

Still relatively new around here, I'm still struggling with the challenge of getting down to 200k by keeping the size and the focus at max...

To Mondaychild: Well, I think we're on the right path --

To lighten the background a bit would probably help, and thanks for your suggestion!

I don't know about darkening the flowers, but perhaps to "blur" the background?

To mesutilgim: Thank you!

This was first snow last year, around the first week in November. Sometimes, yes, we too can still swim in November. But then, we'd miss the lovely fall and winter photos.

Re: Don't do it!

Leave the uncritted photos. One of the wonders of this site is looking at photos of far off and strange places and views. There's a lot of interest in simply looking for places or people or whatnot...

Re: There are lovely photos among the uncritiqued --

But I don't think it has to do with the photos being generally "Bad" and not deserving of critique, but more that there are so many photos posted all the time that...

Re: why not english?

I like the more cosmopolitan feel of TE and it's many languages. A lot of people post "Within their own language" sphere, and there's nothing wrong with that.

Re: To Leventissa: mountains or sky

Ah, that's the problem!
Were you using a real slide/film scanner or one that comes with flatbed scanners? The latter has a tendency to make mush of colors, and collect all the wrong ones. Not to...

Pleased to meet you! Thank you for your kind comments.
