Hello Amelia, and welcome to TE!

It's nice to see photos from Norway. I have found your note very interesting and useful, thanks. Technically, such photos are always very difficult, because of the way the light is entering the objective, which is quite unpredictable and can be risky. But you have handled the light very well here, giving us a very good explanation about the light pillars too.

The composition Bergenphotos suggested in his Workshop can be considered as an alternative, if you really want to show only the light pillars, because they are only barely visible on the sides. But if you want to have a wider perspective and show the landscape of Norway and a nice sunset, this is the right choice.

It's a lovely shot and great choice for your first post on TE, congratulations!
