Hi Leslie

The lady in red, well located, makes the picture, with a splendid building background.
Good photograph eye and brain!

Default To bona: Castle vs palace

Hello Andre,

A castle was the fortified house of someone. The castle was his home and at the same time a fortress. A castle protected the habitants and sometimes the people who lived around it against attacks.

A palace is not intended as a defense and therefore does not have fortified walls. In general a palace is more luxurious than a castle.

Best regards,

Hi Paul, thanks for the explanation. I agree with you about your words.

But many time I saw castles that to me looks only like a palace. To me a castle must have great walls, cannons and something else that a fortress need.

That's why I always be confused when I see a building that to me is a palace but everyone calls castle. Did you understand my point of view?
