Possible TE Exhibition - Italy

Recently a representative from a science museum in Italy has approached TE to discuss the possibility of hosting a multimedia exhibition of various TE photos based on longitude/location; a sort-of virtual trip around the world.

Anyway, the gallery coordinator has been browsing the TE gallery over the past few months and has selected a subset of the photos here that they would like displayed in the exhibition. In order to display it on the large screens higher resolution images will be necessary.

I will be sending an email to each member whose photo has been requested containing a letter with further information from the exhibitions coordinator. Each member should contact the coordinator directly with any questions.

I think this is a great opportunity to bring TE's goal of learning about the world through photography to the offline world!

This announcment is exciting and for you Adam, congradulations for the international acknowledgement. Will it be possible to see this exhibition online also? Like online @trekearth? I can't make it to Italy this year or next.;-)

Well, assuming enough TE members allow their photos to be displayed and the exhibition actually goes on, I could create a separate section to display the photos online as well. Thanks for the feedback.

This is a fantastic idea!!!

What are the next steps after receiving the photo request e-mail? I see that we must contact the exhibit coordinator if we have any more questions, but must we also contact the exhibit coordinator directly to:
1. Give permission for the use of our photos, and
2. Send a better resolution file of the photos requested?

Very impressive but just a question, I takes the photographs in 3 million pixels, how to make to send the photograph by email that does not go I think???

I thought about that also but a 3mp image in jpeg, even with low compression have about 1.8 mb so I guess there's no problem in e-mail send.
