just to espress my condolences
to people in Asia. 15 minutes after
this message was censored and deleted.
i am sad about this, and would like to know why

Remarque, je suis allé voir sur le site de Pondichery où je suis allé il y a maintenant 7 ans car cela me touche. J'espère toutefois que l'on ne pas tomber dans les bons sentiments, il y a tant de choses qui ne vont pas que c'est un peu dur parfois de se rendre compte qu'on est sélectif...
mais rassure toi, je suis très touché. (je n'ai rien regardé à la TV)

Last week,

I saw an information about an impact of meteor near Idonesia, some people were speaking of UFOs, which I still whant to understant the reality. I spent many hours on the web to find more information but nothing at all. As if I had dreamed (hahhahahaha, skizophrenia?) but a week after, nothing exists left but a sudden Tsunami :-(

I hope what I have to say here helps a bit in understanding this situation. We are a human community!
Two weeks my husband died a tragic death. Within eight hours after his death there was a full report with the local newspaper in thier printed edition and online.
I was enraged as I had to deal with numerous phone calls from friends asking what had happened in thier spontanity of grief. It was so unnessary for them to find out in such a painfull& insensitive way and that at that moment I was ripped away from my own grief in order to deal with this ripple effect.
Thank goodness his family did not go online that evening and I was able to contact them personally and ensure that they had loved ones with them to recieve the news.
Even when I took on the local newspaper the next morning their comment & need for public news overode their sensitivity & compassion. So I screamed louder till they heard me and at least removed it from the online edition. It was too late for the printed edition.
We need to think carefully at times like this and I'm sure your note was not meant to be hostile or insensitive but at these times we are not to sure what effect we have on communities and loved ones. It is best to wait just a little especially when we are not in immediate danger of a wave of grief.

I saw the message, I was going to leave a critique but wanted to carefully think what to say given the circumstances. I never found it again: now I know why. We are one world and such act of concern is to be praised.

Because it was not a photograph. It was a text message on a black background. There are many ways one can show condoleces without going against the terms of service:

-Post a relevant photo of life on the coast there such as what Luko posted.
-Post a condolence message in one's Intro section.
-Post a condolence message on the forums.

I'm sure there are other ways as well.
