Great holmertz 2020-04-26 0:47

Hello Paul,
By a funny coincidence I have a photo coming up any day now from the same kind of moment a few hundred meters further up the street. But there are many more persons in your photos than in mine. There are also many more colours and architecture in these photos. The cityscape across the river looks quite different from what I remember from only 12 years ago, most obvious in WS #1. These photos are all nicely composed from well chosen angles with attractive diagonals and marvellous colours.
Best regards,

Default To holmertz: Construction works and highrise

Thank you Gert,

I was amazed at the number of new tall buildings in Phnom Penh and not just on the other side of the Mekong.
At the same time I thought it was a very poor city. Not visible in today's photos.

In Sihanoekville, even more was built but less beautiful, downright ugly.
This city seemed one big construction site but very ugly and very strange. Everywhere you saw work in progress on new high buildings, but there were no streets. I was only there to take the boat to one of the islands. There was not even transportation on what was supposed to be a street.
From the place where the bus from Kampot stopped, you had to walk to the port. If desired, it was possible to rent a man to carry the luggage. A very strange place, almost lugubrious.

Enjoy your Sunday!
