Thanks for your visit - always welcome. The total time for the exposure was around the 50 minute mark and just shy of 100 frames. I think it would be hard to to do a single exposure. I could process all the RAW files to correct that but that's far too much work (I do normally work in RAW but not for this many shots). In the Northern hemisphere if you locate the North star and point towards that you will get the spiral effect seen here (the North star was a little bit higher than the top of the frame or you do get that vortex effect). Just went with the widest aperture to get the most of the sky in as possible. I'm now even thinking of investing in a wide angle lense for this and other landscape stuff but when you already have one that goes down to 18mm it's hard to justify the cost... especially having just bought the Nikon 105mm Macro with VR ;o) Take care Matt |
