Hello Bev,
It's quite a surprise to see you back here, but a pleasure. This is fairly typical of your street-shot style. I like how the musicians are facing opposite directions, probably producing a splendid stereo sound. The background is very strange but suits the composition perfectly. I had to do some googling to find out about the strange sounding bedroom tax. It seems peculiar and I don't think we have anything like it here, although we have a lot of taxes.
Kind regards,
Gert

Hello Gert,
thank you for your critique. The bedroom tax (as it is has become known) is a tax on poor people. Those who live in social housing and are poor due to ill health, low income etc receive housing benefits that are now reduced if the tenant lives in a property deemed to have too many bedrooms for their needs. However, as there is a shortage of social housing this means that even when poor tenants look for smaller properties they cannot find them and are therefore reduced to living on an even smaller income. Tenants who are disabled, for example, use an additional bedroom for storing disability aids and equipment. Others need to use the spare bedroom/s for visiting children (in the case of divorcees or grandparents). Totally inequitable! It is shameful that the gap between rich and poor in the UK is ever widening. -She steps down off her soap box- Bev |
