Hi Bev
Firstly, I know that the weather in the UK has been dismal with the storms and all the unpleasant things they bring like strong wind but this wintery scene is beautiful. I love the way you captured the falling snow and also the yellow flowers in the window (daffodills??) that announce the imminent arrival of spring.
I can see the same difference between my phone and DSLR images - snow/dusk shots taken on the smartphone seem warmer, the camera automatically compensates for the cold light. I sometimes can't decide which ones I prefer! It often depends on which one I took first... ;-)
How did your bird watch go? Mine was mainly starlings and sparrows but I did see two robins as well!
Best wishes
Kasia

Thank you, Kasia.
The weather has been very difficult! I did send you a previous message about the Big Bird Watch but maybe it got lost! I spotted the normal birds, plus greenfinches and an odd stranger, a reed bunting! The robin, the wren, chaffinches, which I normally see were not to be found! We do have pheasants and ducks, which I suppose are uncommon in normal back gardens! How good that you saw sparrows and starlings, which are in decline. We used to see lots of them but only a few nowadays. I loved your grebe photograph. ❤️ Kind regards, Bev 😊 |
