Hello Bev,
The bridge doesn't look very high, but maybe the girl who fell to her death was very small. But what a pretty bridge it is, and what an ancient cultural heritage for the village, still functional. The photo is taken from a good angle with the bridge and the stream seen on opposing diagonals. I also see a number of interesting, moss-covered walls that are also quite photogenic. It's actually a view full of history.
Kind regards,
Gert
PS Now I saw the WS, another very interesting photo.

Thank you for your critique, Gert.
There are no details of the girl's death, though it is a well known story. I would suspect that she hit her head on the stone bridge as she fell. It is quite a narrow bridge to cross on a bicycle but I have seen it happen. It takes great confidence or foolhardiness to attempt such a crossing! Maybe I would have found it less dangerous as a youngster! Have a lovely Monday, Bev :-) |
