Hello Jorge,
I get an impression they have more churches than they really need. But they are quite beautiful and the photo is well taken from a good angle. The grey domes and roofs match the clouds well.

in the colonial cities of brazil (where there were big mines of diamond and gold) there are dozens of churches, like in suzdal. in some aspects when people of those days had many sins they decided to bribe God building a new church, I presume it was the same in the aristocracy of russia, many sins during a whole life and building a church when you are so old to make more and the gates of the death are near.. God need to be much patient with mankind... take care jorge
