This looks like a very old photo to me. The lighting is terrific. MAy I ask what camera and film you used on it? Is it one of your nikons?

yeah it's a nikon..
tri-x 400 it's not as much the lighting as i think the depth of field that is greating this effect.. it was shot on a 17-35.. at f13 i think.. ;) |

well..
see if i was using a telephoto lens, the the focus wouldn't have been on the whole body even if it was on the whole body the edges wouldn't be so sharp.. i kept the depth of field deep in this ( using a wide angle lens and small aperture) on purpose to keep the edges of the body sharp.. i think this gives it a little of that 3 d effect which i think is most responsible to make him stand out.. just a guess :) |
