I probably would have lighten the bottom green section even more. I agree with you that it was a right move to process each half separately, but I miss some light in the bottom area. But I bet you ran into noise problems there (while trying to get some details from shadows) and that made you stop where you stopped. There is also some traces of noise reduction... The top section is perfect! Composition is very good and the scene itself is wonderful. A sight I wouldn't mind experiencing. I like it.

You read the picture and my mind pretty well on all the PP challenges. This only proves that I need to go back there to show the scene exactly the way I wanted :)
