Hi Charlotte,
I think you should crop this image so the your main subject falls into one of the "golden thirds". I understand that sometimes it seems that the photo is better centered but you can't publish a centered image without being criticized. Divide the image into thirds horizontaly and vertically and then crop the image so that the main focus of the image falls as close as possible to one of the intersectins (4 in total). Will add worshop to show the golden points ?

I appreciate your input, but... As the boat is heading straight on, I felt the central compositon was most appropriate for this shot. Although I'm a great adherent to the "rule of thirds" principle, it's not a hard-and-fast rule, and I feel able to use my discretion in deciding when to ignore it.
