Great worldcitizen 2022-04-30 16:53

Hello Gert,
This is an excellent trio of photos, and the info in the note is very interesting, too. First, I must say that these old houses are beautiful, and the executioner had a fabulous view! So, while he was executioner the murders he committed were allowed, but then he killed someone he wasn't supposed to and was sentenced to death himself?! Who executed him if he was the executioner at the time? Questions popped into my mind as I read your note! Anyway, this spot looks very peaceful and welcoming now. :-) Take care!

Default To worldcitizen: executioner

Thank you Brenda,
Usually the executioner was someone who had been sentenced to death but was pardoned if he took the not very attractive job. It was an offer he couldn't refuse. "Master Mikael" was unusual for actually applying for the job, but when he beat someone to death in a drunken fight in a bar, a new executioner was quickly appointed the traditional way.
Kind regards,
Gert
