Photographer's Note

The Botanical Garden of Algiers, is a refreshing oasis to visit when you would like to take a brake from the bustling city. Parts of the garden feels almost like a deep djungle and there are an extensive number of birds and exotic trees from different places from the planet in here.

Shots like this need human presence in my opinion. So I included these young women when they were occupied with taking selfies with their cellphones. Taking photos from my spot are probably done thousands of times before, but I couldn't resist the amazing depth in this scene, and I'm just a tourist after all :)

Hi Boa,i never thought that in Algiers there is a green show like that,just the muslim womans reminds that we are in a arabic country,so i like their presence in the composition. Truly beautiful with an endless view of this big park very well preserved. And my best compliments for the 2 scenes of daily life in the WS,work or fishing,the composition are very interesting. Hi Boa

I've only flown over Algeria and even then I did not get to see any of it. So it's a nice surprise to see gardens like Cordoba in Spain and manicured greenery and flowers. Not at all like the desert like conditions I conjured up in my imagination. Tfs!

Det är helt enligt min åsikt också att vyer av det här slaget behöver en mänsklig förgrund. Det är absolut ingen nackdel om de dessutom bär matchande färger. Jag minns inte säkert om jag har varit här, eller om jag blandar ihop det med någon liknande plats, kanske ett långt torg som går stegvis nedför sluttningen. Hur som helst en väldigt fint komponerad bild. Jag gillar extrabilderna också. Jag antar att den fisk som fångas i Alger mest är sardiner i olja. ;-)

Your "Altered Image #2" is one of the most spectacular pictures, the man on the ladder,, with all the dangerous wires.
Of course is your head picture the most beautiful.
We get a paradise in background.
Perspective and depth too.
Two ladies are a nice addition.

Hello Boa, How is it to travel in Algeria? Is it safe? fantastic composition. I like the deep perspective, the rows of the high palm trees and of course the presence of these two women in their colourful dresses. Nice symmetry. Fantastic flowers, maybe bougainvillea. But it doesn't look like a jungle.

For sure, you are not the first person to take this picture from the high point of view, but the addition of the offcentered ladies in the country cloth is the bonus, they enhanced the symetrical view.

A great view down the central part of the botanical gardens, which is very nicely lined by the tall palm trees, which add a sense of symmetry. The two ladies are well included in the foreground too.

Ha! Ha! Boa, you are a tourist but have found a spot which not many other tourists have discovered, well, not on this day!
I was surprised that this was a scene from Algeria! Not the sort of scene that I would have imagined! (You see how good this site is for dispelling stereotypes!)
The scene is beautiful and green, you have captured a wonderful sense of depth and,as you note, those two ladies are very important in your composition.
