Ocean’s bell, a photo from Luanda, North

Sunset on Atlantic Ocean , and that's the bell from one oil rig , standing right on top of the water , pretty rusted by time...I adjust some more the red nuance , and we have a symbolic pic . Some supertisions concerning this bell… if it starts ringing it means that a severe incident will occur on board . When departing from a harbor , the ship's master (only) will ring this bell .

Beautiful photo in fantastic purple tone. The composition and point of view are perfect. I like the symbolizm of this photo telling as well as your note a lot about sailors superstitions.

I don't think this picture is too interesting, maybe only because of this unusual colour; it looks though like it was over-manipulated in PS, I don't see a reason to do something like this. The horizon is also tilted to the left, what is almost unacceptable with sea pictures...

On the other side of Atlntic Ocean, I'm here an now with my bell's and rigs! :) Nice shot!Good colors and compo. Last year, I posted at TE , an bell when my ship an DSV, was close to Rio de Janeiro.

I rate this photo of yours as I promised you not much ago ;)
I think that the pink/purple POV for the background sky color is really interesting and adds much to the feeling, however I dont know what feeling it is (LOL), romanticism maybe??
I agree with your thoughts in the forum. I am sure that, this representation is much more interesting than what it would be with its original colors, and I think that it actually is the eyecatcher for most of the people rating your picture here. OK, I believe that what you see in reality may be interesting but here you have added something from your own feelings and you wanted to share your POV with us, maybe saying "look folks! isn't it nice with such lovely colors?"
Yes my friend. It is nice indeed.
Regarding the bell, you represent a correct composition (imho) by placing it to the right side rather than centering it. Its sharpness and recognizable texture details are already evidences of the overall technical quality.
