Photographer's Note

A last set of photos from Abomey, former capital of the kingdom of Dahomey, about two hours by car north of Cotonou, the major city of Benin.

There is not much to say about this photo. I suppose I just liked the view of the boy in green and the little lady in red walking towards one of the idyllic streets of Abomey. On the right side I think we see one of the places where shared taxis going to fixed destinations would pick up passengers. Maybe this is where I found a car to take me back to Cotonou. In the background, behind the tree, there seems to be an unofficial depository for former shared taxis.

Another tree, and some people, can be seen in the first WS. The second additional photo shows yet another painting from the palace museum in Abomey. All these photos from late March 1982 were scanned from Kodachrome slides.
