Photographer's Note

The people of the Samburu are known for their beautiful bead work. While passing through the tiny village of Wamba I was struck by the beauty of the bead work that this young woman wore. It was during the heat of the day and she and her friends were standing in the shat of an old tree. Note the keys on her left wrist. Both the males and females of the Samburu trade in old keys. Ironically they have no doors and need no locks.
