Photographer's Note
The etymological dictionaries link the origins of the word giraffe to the arabic word of zarafat, that is elegance. The giraffe is easily spotted in the nature due to its tall body measuring up to 5mt. Of the 3 types of giraffes, Masai Giraffe, Reticulated Giraffe and Rothschild's Giraffe, Masai Giraffe is identified by irregular brown blotches on a yellow fur. Reticulated Giraffe has a coat with brown geometric patches defined by narrow white lines. Rothschild's Giraffe's coat pattern, although similar to Reticulated Giraffe's coat pattern has less defined line pattern.
The driver/guide told that of the three older giraffes of this group, the larger and darker colored giraffe was a male looking to mate with one of the females. He followed and sniffed the female closer to the camera for a long time to see if the she was ready to mate. Unfortunately, after a while another male showed up, with the same intention, and this male had to leave the grounds.

Beautiful photo. I quite enjoyed the three giraffes but I found the one behind somewhat disturbing. But we can´t always get the absolutely perfect shot in nature.I do like the expression of the giraffe coming up from behind. The 2 dark spots above the male giraffe are however a distraction that should be removed.
