Approaching the Pass, a photo from Butha-Buthe, North

Photographer's Note

This is from the driving between Malealea and Sani Pass. I was pretty much following the lowlands towards northeast before heading into the mountaneous eastern part of the country. This is from a part of Lesotho that I perhaps found most picturesque, and it was just where the highlands really began. I was driving further and further into this valley after passing Butha-Buthe and the views got better and better as I approached the steep Moteng Pass. Unfortunately I couldn't stop as we were kind of in a hurry! And I was driving the car, so I had to be quick whenever I saw a photo opportunity (yes, I had the camera around my neck while driving). Anyway, if I ever go back to Lesotho, I'll make sure to drive/cycle this road again.

Wow! What a beautiful landscape! The colours and the shapes of the mountains are wonderful and the straight road included in the photo is really eye-catching - not that you had a choice not to include it, taking photos while driving. ;-)

Wonderful panorama view about these area
The road lead us perfect to the background.
Perspective and depth are very pleasant to look at.
Colours and sharpness are excellent done.

so what inticed you to visit this African Nation?
We don't here much at ALL about this country..
and to be honest, i personally know NOTHING about it.

i'd be interested to hear about your travels here...was it safe? easy to get around? whats to see in this country?

It appears to be a most remarkable landscape if rather barren,with the spectacular mountain ranges an attractive feature.
The road leads very nicely into the frame giving it a good feeling of depth.

Beautiful panoramic view Fredrik!
Love the colours and the perspective element with the black road just outside the middle.
The colour of the vegitation is in a nice contrast to the blue sky.

You visited Leshoto in about the same time of the year as I did. Guess it was very cold there?
