Photographer's Note
They say never underestimate the changeability of the weather in Lesotho. A common truth is that you can have four seasons in one day, so be prepared.
The Basotho people have a unique African mountain culture, reminiscent of Tibet. People live in traditional rondavels(huts), herd goats and sheep in the high mountains and grow crops by ox-ploughing and hand-hoeing.
Its almost midday and over 30 degrees, the sweat is pouring off of me and I try to quench my thirst with water. My son to the delight of the shepherds pours some water over his head, they laugh at us and wrap their blankets tightly around themselves and head off with their sheep.
Difficult midday light as you can see by the shadows.

Bonjour Keith,
De toute évidence ils craignent le froid par ces 30° ! Les bottes sont également surprenantes. La lumière est certes un peu dure. On ne peut leur demander de revenir le matin ou le soir ! Merci.

the light is harsh, i agree but you managed it pretty well given the time of day... those boots and blankets are indeed very surprising at such a high temperature;-)
