Photographer's Note

This little girl is the perfect representative of the incredibly beautiful people that I came across in southern Madagascar. She was a little wary of my camera but once I got her to smile again she was happy to pose. I am very new at photography and have now started playing around with photoshop but please be as critical as you want, I'm here to learn! I've tried this one in B&W and it really brings out the stripes in her dress... she's beautiful in both!

perfect shot of charachter and natural beauty which had nothing to do with good looks..more innocence and trust..which you captures
i did a w/s to make the girl the only subject an d centred her by hard cropping..some post processing helped to restore the colour balance and sharpness..
hope you like it..i wish i had taken this...i get a bit self conscious about children and approaching them with a camera...its even more difficult on beaches where an immmense photographic harvest of children are available..but with the upsurge of child porn some people are wary of the candid photographer

Beautiful shot Emily! Welcome to TE!I love the reflection in her eyes and the warm tones of her skin. The POV and DOF are also great. As for mrcrow's workshop, he probably ran it through a program like Neatimage to get rid of the noise..which makes it look a bit sharper. I prefer your crop though. Well done! :)
