Fez Gate, a photo from Fes, Nord

Photographer's Note

Fez ('Fes' in French) was my overnight stopover enroute from Chefchaouen to Erg Chebbi. Framed by the arch (Bab Bou Jeloud built by the French in 1913) is Zaouia Moulay Idriss II, a religious complex. At left is La Kasbah Restaurant.

A delightful blue hour composition. The gateway shown in all its majesty makes a beautiful natural frame for the background architecture. Perfectly exposed to capture the mood and the fine colours and detailing.

Je me souviens parfaitement de cette belle porte de la ville de Fez.J'en ai d'ailleurs pris plusieurs photos même si c'était la période de l'argentique.

This is an excellent view of the pretty gate in the blue hour. Just photographing this gate would be worth a trip to Fez.
