Photographer's Note
When wandering around one of the hillier non-touristed parts of Fes I was struck by the number of satellite dishesand other antennae on roof tops. As would be expected there are also plenty of minarets with the higher up one in this photo having a distinct lean.
Best in the large view.

Bonjour, cher Ian,

Hello Ian,
Fez was for me such a fascinating city. I was there with the organized tour twenty years ago and I was so afraid to be lost in the maze of the narrow streets. Amazing view of all these antennas. The green minarets, so typical to Morocco, contrast nicely with the surrounding. great composition.

Hello Ian,
I smiled from ear to ear when I saw this!
The buildings look old, many inexpertly repaired and could be from centuries ago!
Then we see they have been invaded by the satellite dish and antennae plague!
It's almost surreal!
However, your photograph clearly records what is to be seen and I fear there is no cure for this epidemic!
Have a lovely day,
Bev :-)

Hello Ian,
It is a fact of modern life, satellite dishes are sprouting up anywhere and everywhere you go in the world. People have a desire to know what is going on in the world and to keep up with latest programmes not to mention football and others sports. The minaret and the mosque though still very important represent the old way of life. Interesting documentary composition very well realised.

Hello Ian
A well composed picture in which the white dishes scattered all over the frame have become an integral part of the picture in contrast with the rustic surroundings. The two towers perfectly balance the photograph. An uncommon but enjoyable view.
Cheers!

Bonjour Ian,
C'est une de mes villes préférées au Maroc. Les habitants de la vil;e habitent de vieilles maisons mais ils suivent les choses de près avec toutes ces coupoles. Une modernité différente.
Amicalement

:)
Perfect observation, it's probably the largest number of satellite dishes per square meter in the world :)
You have a good eye

Hello Ian,
Ten year old, I don't know or toady is much change in Morocco, exterior the cities, on the countryside.
Your picture is very interesting through the perfect angle.
Also the sharpness and clarity makes everything interesting.
Very well done, TFS.
Best regards,
John.

Hello Ian,
What makes this shot interesting, is that I barely see a quadrant between horizontal or vertical lines, the tower at the top seems to lean very distinctly as you noted.
Best Wishes,
Gy

Hello Ian,
Wow, this is a huge number of antennae and satellite dishes! They make a great contrast with the walls and towers of the old city. The yellow and green parts stand out very nicely too.

Hi Ian,
great panoramic view of the less touristy area of the Fes.
Your reportage is slowly convincing me that I should consider Morocco for a trip may be next year...
The sky is obviously sub-optimal but this is often the case with archival photos: we know we could do it better now but there is no way to go back and re-do it. So it is what it is but it does not damage the great impression of the view.
The satellite dish is of course a interesting repeated motif but the tower adds the character.
Great reportage,
M
