Photographer's Note

Détail de la villa au coeur du jardin Majorelle à Marrakech. Ce jardin tire son nom du peintre français Jacques Majorelle. Installé à Marrakech à partir de 1919, il y achète une palmeraie en 1922 et y fait construire en 1931 une villa inspirée de l'architecte Le Corbusier, qui est à la fois son atelier et son lieu d'habitation. Passionné de botanique, il aménage autour de la villa un magnifique jardin composé de plantes exotiques, d'espèces rares rapportées de ses voyages à travers le monde.

Jacques Majorelle décède en 1962 et le jardin est laissé à l'abandon. Alors qu'un projet immobilier menace le jardin, le couturier Yves Saint-Laurent et l'homme d'affaire français Pierre Bergé rachètent en 1980 le jardin, le restaurent et l'ouvrent au public. Le jardin Majorelle est aujourd'hui un des sites les plus visités de Marrakech et un endroit bien agréable pour trouver un peu de fraîcheur et fuir le soleil et la chaleur !

Surement plusieurs possibilités de cadrage por ce sujet qu'il me semble avoir déà vu . il faut dire que le contraste jaune-bleu est extra .
ici , c'est classique , mais très beau .

What a nice capture ! Simple but quite beautiful.
By the way this dominant colors, blue and yellow are the colors of the famous turkish soccer team Fenerbahçe, my favorite team.

Hi Olivier,
A well arranged picture with the yellow pots in front of the deep blue wall. The window is naturally the main part of the picture but all these itms together make a very nice composition.

What an interesting note - how wonderful that this villa and its garden have been saved from a modern development and how nice that one can now enjoy relaxing there on a hot day!

You have captured a little corner of this villa perfectly and from it we can get a very good idea of how wonderful this place must be. The composition and the colours are wonderfully strong and bold, the colours consisting almost exclusively of two complementary ones - blue and yellow. Lovely light and colours, perfect exposure and exquisite details and sharpness.

Thank you for this.
I'm sure I saw it on a tv programme many months ago but your shot has jogged my memory. The colours are quite superb, whilst your shot also details the artistry on view at the villa, in this exquisite composition.
Thank goodness there are people around with foresight to rescue and renovate important artistic places.

Couleurs éclatantes pour le détail de cette façade. L'impact est d'autant plus grand que les pots de fleur s'accordent bien avec ces grilles en fer forgé.

who could walk past this with a camera and not rattle of some shots. That aside it is so perfectly composed with balance, detail and real style - something that not every camera wielding person can achieve. Minimalist and colourful magic. Bravo!

En voilà une belle photo très colorée, avec une composition simple et minimaliste mais qui "marche" bien.
Il est un peu dommage que les plantes soient un peu coupées par les bords du cadre, mais ça n'empêche pas d'apprécier cette image.
