Photographer's Note
Looking at the pond of Saadin Garden Pavillon, through the arches of the pavillion. Recent rains brought sand to the pond, making it muddy. I used flash light with minus 2 brightness to obtain a slight luminocity on the inner walls.
The pavilion was built during the 16th century Saadi dynasty inside Menara Gardens, Marrakech. It was renovated in 1869 by Sultan Abderrahmane of Morocco, who used to stay here in summertime. The pavilion is surrounded by orchards and olive groves and can be visited to see the exquisite ornaments and frescoes inside.

A classical composition here Deniz and one that works really well with the symmetry of the arches. The lighting on the walls and the minimal view gives this shot the feel of a surrealistic painting. I like this one a lot. Your note about how you used the fill in flash is very useful and something I know nothing about... I must find a suitable situation and try this out. Warm regards Rosemary

Hello Deniz,
I wouldn't go so far as to compare this with a surrealistic painting, but the vaults, the clouds and the clear colours make me think of De Chirico, for instance. The atmosphere is very different but this is a fine photo in its own right, cleverly composed and well executed.
Kind regards,
Gert

Hi Deniz,
Good idea using the arches of the pavillion as a frame for the picture. Perfect symetry, beautiful light.

hi amonasro, çok güzel. I agree with Gert that it has a look of surrealistic paintings. The using of flash light, I never use it :(, gave an excellent result here. creative composition. and I always wonder why symmetrical compositions are regarded as boring. I like them very much. marvelous clouds and you have even this bus in the right place. marvelous shot.
Yesterday I invited my friends for a Turkish evening with my (800) photos. I prepared a lot of ayran and then I forgot about it :((((.
Hugs from B.

Hi Deniz,
Without your note, I would never have noticed the pond, the mud has turned it the exact same color as the earth, and even its ripples look like small dunes. I love how you have framed this with the triple window (Triptych is my new word for the day!). The arches here look superb, both the ones to the outside of the building, and the large one in the inside which frames the whole scene perfectly. The shadows and light are beautiful too, handled perfectly to bring the best detail out in both the shaded area and the bright light. Even the sky was good to you here. Beautiful result, thanks as always

Bonjour Deniz,

Complimenti. Un'altra splendida fotografia.
Ciao e buona serata

Hi Deniz,
perfect symmetry and really lovely view outside!
It has for me definitely something from "One Thousand and One Nights" stories feeling.
Beautifula and evocative scene!

Dear Deniz
Ahh nice POV, a good one here adding interest to the composition and also making me think of those old films about Lawrence of Arabia. The blocks of colour are stunning and contrast beautifully with each other. You also handled the shaded areas really well, evening out the light superbly.
Thanks for sharing, have a great Sunday
Lisa
