Photographer's Note
An early morning sunrise at the desert camp in Erg Chebbi. Once the sun came up it was time to go. Lots of camels resting before they took us back to our hotel with a shower & swimming pool ! No showers out here. I got about half way up the dunes before the sun rose, eliminating any chance of a nice sunrise shot. Plus the temperature shot up from about 25c to 40c in only 15 minutes, so I
headed back to the row of tents in the bg.

Chris, grandiose desert landscape. The giant dunes appear majestically in the bg. Some shrubs grow in that inhospitable area. The camels enjoy the relatively low temperatures by early morning. Fine colors, good sharpness, interesting photo note, regards.

Hello Chris,
Your notes add conviction to the impression that this is a very hot, arid place. The need for the shade of a tent, just after sunrise, says it all!
Despite the general lack of distinctive features, you have created a good composition, the tents strongly placed, whilst the rising dunes act as a fine backcloth.
The camels ... well, it's like 'Where's Wally'. Are you familiar with the books?
Have a good day,
Bev :-)

Hello Chris,
I remember from the Sahara how the temperature could rise from very cold to burning hot in a short time. One shouldn't underestimate that kind of climate. The dunes are nicely interspersed with green bushes. It's an exciting view for most of us but the camels have seen it before, so they couldn't care less.
Regards,
Gert

Bonjour Chris,
L'étendue de l'endroit donne de la profondeur à la scène. La prise de vue permet de voir les détails des dunes, des chameaux et des tentes. La lumière rehausse la beauté des couleurs. Bonne journée.

Hello Chris,
I can not count good!
But I see different camels.
The desert mountains and the animals in forgrouns make your picture nice to look at.
Excellent sharp and clear.
Very well done, TFS
Have a nice day,

exquisite details in this desert image. I guess you have to climb the dunes way before sunrise to capture that shot. Lovely colours

Hello Chris,
Beautiful view of the desert and its warm colours and smooth shapes. I like the pattern of the small green bushes in the sand as well, just like the huts and camels, which are nicely scattered around the foreground.

Hi Chris
my first question is, that is that 'building' on the lower left, that isn't one of the tents you're referring to is it?
I guess it is, it looks quite rustic and not very pretty haha.
wonderful overview here though, its a cool visual. I wonder also, do the camels get freaking bored of doing the same walk over and over??? cheers

Bonjour, cher Chris,
Eh oui, ça chauffe très rapidement dans ces déserts, cela doit être difficile de supporter une telle chaleur.
L'image est superbe et fait rêver !
Amitiés.

Hello Chris, I have seen last year two sand deserts - in Oman and in Iran. I am always fascinated by the desert. Nice view with the camels.
Kind regards Malgo

Hi Chris,
Calm morning view from Sahara desert. Those dunes are really impressive. That simple tent is perfectly placed. And so are the camels.
