Photographer's Note

Every day tons of fish arrive in the port of Agadir.
(most of all sardines from all over the world are coming from this place)

In the fish mine (auction) you see this great spectacle of yelling fishermen, selling there fish.

If you are good looking you see how smart and orderly they arrange the fish in wooden boxes with ice.

Great candid shot, Luc. it's fascinating seeing this crowd in their clincal white coats, gathered around these trays of sardines, haggling over prices. I can almost hear their shouting.
As your note says, quite a spectacle. I didn't know Agadir was known for its fish, and particularly sardines - so this definitely fulfils the TE brief of educating us about places around the world.

Very interesting shot. I might have cropped those elbows out from the top but otherwise great.

Don't think much of your B&W version, this is a shot full of action which needs colour!

Hallo Luc,
Nee, de kleuren versie is mooier omdat juist de sardientjes zo mooi uitkomen in deze. En wat liggen ze er netjes bij. En om dan er weer met hun laarzen op te gaan staan...vreemd.
Je standpunt is erg goed gekozen van boven, daardoor krijgen we nu een goed overzicht van wat zich daar afspeelt. Mooie plaat...!!!

What an interesting picture! These men are realy involved in the procedures which take place there. It seems to be a very exciting work, they are doing. You show this from an excellent point of view - like from a stand. A great shot! By the way - I prefer the colour-version, it gives still more life!

Bonsoir Luc,
Tu as recueilli très bien cette atmosphère du marché de poisson, qui paraît être égal dans toutes parties, avec beaucoup de gens, beaucoup de cris et beaucoup d'action.
La photo le montre parfaitement, il a un bon point de vue depuis en haut, une bonne illumination, et bonnes couleurs.
Elle est très bien faite, j'aime.

De B&W versie is wel bijzonder goed Luc maar ik verkies toch de kleurenversie omdat dit al bijna een B&W is waar toch de kleuren eruit springen als een extra eye-puller gaande van die oranje vesten naar de vissen en da's pas echt leuk vanuit je hoog gezichtspunt.

Ik vind de Z/W foto niet zo mooi als uw kleur foto, hier zijn acties want heviger en het dagelijks levenbeeld uit een vismijn toont de andere gewoontes van een ander land, goed gedaan vind ik! U stond wel op een goede plaats om te fotograferen, een beetje uit de hoogte!

Dag Luc. Goed perspectief dat ons een goed overzicht geeft van de drukke vismijn. Er is goeie actie in de foto; mooi genomen. B&W is ook mooi, maar onderdrukt misschien wel een beetje de "ambiance". Groetjes.

It makes me smile, all those men looking down in the eyes of dead fish.
But it's a great daily life sceane. I like the color version more. Did you take close-ups as well? There are a few things that could have made beautiful pics.
