Photographer's Note
I am afraid that this picture will not be especially appreciated but I am very proud of it. It is even a bit sensational.
What you see here is the African wild dog (Lycaon pictus), also known as the painted hunting dog, painted wolf, African hunting dog or African painted dog.
We saw them in Niokola Koba National Park (UNESCO Heritage List). Our guide has been many times there but he saw them for the first time. There were even doubts if the painted dogs really live there. We were very lucky to see a group of at least ten animals and for quite a long time so I was able to take pictures and movie. Fortunately, we were on the bus :).

See my movie
In the movie, you can see that the animals try to eat the rests of the black plastic bag. I was horrified to see it. What we do with our nature.

Hello Malgo,
A very appropriate name for this elusive animal, completely unknown to me. Two very good captures, particularly the top one where he looking direct to the camera. Excellent colours and clarity.

Hello Malgo,
I am glad you posted these photos of the rare animal. Although the wild dog is rather ugly, the photos are beautiful, But it is very sad to see plastic rubbish being thrown in a national park where it can cause such harm. Why can't people ever learn? The movie is a wonderful complement. As I told you I saw a similar large group of these animals in Zimbabwe. We also preferred to stay in the car, even though we were not aware of their extraordinary jaws and teeth. ;-)
Kind regards,
Gert

Hello Malgo,
I was so surprised to see your photograph of the painted wolf.
There was a documentary on BBC, yesterday, showing the plight of these misunderstood animals. As you so truthfully state, endangered! The film crew followed the groups for 2 years and revealed the impact that humans are having, reducing their territory significantly so that adjacent packs are having to fight for food. It was difficult to watch without weeping! We really do have to get our act together and become more aware of our species and our responsibility towards other species!
Well done for capturing this rare animal and alerting others to its plight!
My warm regards,
Bev :-)

Ciao Malgo,

Hello Malgo,
Two excellent photos of this wild dog and a very interesting note to inform us about this species. The pattern of its fur is great and clearly seen here. It also makes him stand out well from the red background.

Though it is not best loved animal, Malgo, but it is rare to get such a photo in its natural environment.
It has a vicious look...
Nicely shown with the rdd soli ground.

Hi, Malgo.
For me these two images are sensational, because it is the first time I see this animal, also your note is widely explanatory to appreciate even more the image, very curious its big ears and colors of its hair.
Magnificent color, which gives a lot of chromatism to the image.
Very good brightness and perfect sharpness.
Well done. I like very much.
You have a good day.
Very best regards.
Luis.

Hello Malgo,
I'd say what an ugly animal is this ... but probably this African wild dog would think the same if it sees me :)
He stands out strongly in this area but presumably his fur is adapted to a more vegetated environment.
Best regards, Paul

Ciao Malgo
non importa se la foto può piacere o meno, l'importante è che tu l'abbia fatta e condivisa con noi, i licaoni non sono così comuni su TE, probabilmente è il primo!!!!

Hello Malgo,
His coat is beautiful, but those big ears make him homely.
Happy Holidays,
MT
PS. Kraynak's make their holiday displays themselves, I think.
