Photographer's Note
My penultimate upload also was an image of this young man.
Yes, there was a ceremony and it is a decisive moment. He had reached the age where he had to go to the field school where the elders of the community taught him how to behave as a man. The ochre on his face is not a mask to hide behind but a token of his coming of age. Unfortunately the tradition has been watered down in the sense of the privacy of its nature. They do not make their huts of branches and grass out of sight anymore but build them with plastic bags draped over trees next to the main roads.
Again, note the high ISO rating of 6400. Taken with flash this time.

This is my favourite in this little series, Gunter. The bookmark crop really works well here, and even though you used a flash, the light is not too strong and still natural.

Hello Neels - I agree with Benny, the bookmark crop works very well here. The colours are harmonious and attractive. Tell me, is the ochre obtained locally? Have a good week. Rosemary

Hello Neels,
Excellent shot, I love the extra tall vertical format. The painted face make this photo looks like a painting of someone like Van Gho et al.
Excellent and unique portrait shot.
