Photographer's Note
This girl is taking grass to school - it is her tuition payment, The grass will be used to make mud bricks and thatch the roof of a new school building. These village schools have no school supplies. They have one notebook and one pencil for twenty children. I asked this girl, "Why are you taking grass to school?" She said. "It is for my teacher so she will teach me." I asked her, "Why do you want to go to school?" She answered, "I want to learn to fly airplanes."

I decided to view some of your other photos after commenting on one today. I really like this one. You captured the girl well and her situation well. The photographers note explains things well.
I'm glad you were able to return to Africa and see your mother.
