Photographer's Note

Île Changuu (également connu sous le nom Kibandiko, Prison ou l'île de la quarantaine) est une île au nord-ouest de Stone Town, Zanzibar. L'île était utilisée comme prison pour les esclaves rebelles en 1860 et a également fonctionné comme une mine de corail. Le Premier ministre de Zanzibar, Lloyd Mathews, a acheté l'île en 1893 et construit un complexe de prison là-bas. Elle est devenue une station de quarantaine pour les cas de fièvre jaune. Plus récemment, l'île est devenue une station touristique appartenant au gouvernement et abrite une collection de tortues géantes d'Aldabra qui étaient à l'origine un cadeau du gouverneur britannique des Seychelles

C'est bien composé avec cette étoile de mer en premier plan, la vue a une très grande profondeur et un jli contraste entre le premier plan clair et le bleu de l'eau plus loin, belle luminosité.

This is a very artistic composition. I love the starfish in the fg.I like the layers of colour too with the paler sand and then the dark band of water topped by the lighter coloroud water.The boats are perfectly placed. This one to be printed and hung on a wall.

A wonderful shot! I enjoy the balance of the composition with the starfish in the FG and the two boats further back. I also like the 'layers' of colours and textures in this vertical image. Excellent exposure, sharpness and colour.
