Photographer's Note
Birjand is the east Iranian provincial capital of South Khorasan and the centre of the county Birjand resp. Quhestan, known for its saffron, barberry, rug and handmade carpet exports. The city is located on the "Silk Road" and has a dry climate with significant difference between day and night temperatures.
The Birjand citadel has an area of 3000 m² and dates back to the Safavid era. It originally had 7 towers of which, six stand today. It is the city's oldest monument and the initial part of it. Some underground tunnels connected the citadel to other important sites of the city.

Hi Atousa, good shot showing us this interesting archecture, wish I'd known more about Iran when I was there and visisted this place. Good colour contrast between the red building and the deep blue sky and inclusion of the person gives an idea of the scale of the buildings. Cheers, Steve

This is a beautiful historic place, old citadel dated back to silk road era, with original mudbrown color dominating the frame shaded by clean blue sky. Your framing is excellent, important element perfectly placed and the shadow is good foreground subject and wise inclusion of human figs for good balance and scale. Splendid light and color management and good presentation. Congrats

Hi Atousa,
An example of different and interesting architecture. A very fine capture where the sharp shadows play an important role in your composition. Also many good lines and angles.

A great place with mother and child adding presence. Light colours and sharpness are excellent. Maybe a tighter view, to avoid the dark shadows on the right side can be an option?

Salam Atousa.
Superb composition with the image of the courtyard of the fortress, a sober and attractive architecture, the diagonal marks the shadow of the image done by cash and gives a nice contrast to the rest of the image that glows with good light and color.
Have a nice week. Best regards.
Luis.

Salam Atousa,
This is a nice over image of the citadel, the light seem rather strong and difficult, the shadow suffer a bit loss of details, maybe it's just my monitor setting, but the rest is just fine. I like the rich warm earth tone, complement very well wiht the clear blue sky. Good compositioin, the inclusion of the people give a sense of scale and perspective.
