Photographer's Note

This family of three and one friend (behind) make their way through the forest in which their village is a part of. They rely on resources from the forest to survive for basics such as food, water, wood and shelter.

Taken while trekking through the mountains of Northern Laos.

An excellent image, with very good soft ligth, and perfect care for the exposure.
I like the boys and her mother expressions. They are all looking into the camera.

Close and friendly encounter. Great mix of expressions and feelings, and good how you positioned the four faces of the family. The presence of the mother and that hint of a smile on her face are superb. I really like this picture. Thanks for sharing it.

Hi David,
You finally have made it to Laos. Not only that, you went way deep into the forest where things remind unchanged. This is a very rare shot to see, these people may have never even set foot in the city. Maybe once in long long time.
Great quality, colros is subdue and natural, a little desaturated even, but I like the effect very well.
