Buffalo of Marajo Island, a photo from Para, Nord

Photographer's Note

The largest herd of buffalos of the country is located at the island of Marajó. These buffalos, besides the meat, are also used as means of transportation. Says the legend that the so called "Black cattle" arrived on the island, when a ship sank in the Indian coast and the animals swam to the island, and the survivors have adapted to the mode of living in Marajo.

The fact is that the buffalos - about 500 thousand, more numerous than the marajoaras - are constantly present. Even on the meal. The meat, the milk and the cheese - also known as marajoara cheese. It is not exactly like the "Buffalo Mozarela", but a little pastier version.

un soggetto inusuale per noi, inserito in un paesaggio bellissimo, colori molto caldi ed intensi, una composizione perfetta sorretta da una qualità eccellente...

Interessante foto de uma ilha praticamente desconhecida (creio que é a primeira foto que vejo).
Os postes da cerca dão um efeito interessante com o fundo branco.

molto particolare questa immagine con il bufalo che per mangiare quasi affossa in questa sorta di risaia.
Anche senza sole hai tirato fuori una bella immagine con le palme sullo sfondo.

Muito interessantes esses búfalos de Marajó andando por todos os lados, mas uma pena que a carne não seja aproveitada nos "hambúrgueres" de lá! Ficou muito bem mostrada a paisagem meio pantanosa que tem pelo interior da ilha, com o búfalo solitário na foto. Belo trabalho!

Bela captura do búfalo pastando nos campos alagados do Marajó, Lucas.
Essa ilha é um resumo de boa parte da vegetação do Brasil, tem campos limpos, cerrado, cerradão, floresta equatorial, mangues, dunas.
Esta história do naufrágio é a mais interessante pra explicar a origem dos búfalos marajoaras, mas parece que a verdadeira é que começaram a ser importados da Itália e do Caribe no final do final do século XIX.
Composição muito bem realizada.

a única pena aqui foi a luz estar fraca, o resto é magnífico. visitei soure mas não andei muito nos pântanos, visitei algumas praias. legal aqui o capim na vertical e as estruturas na horizontal, o búfalo muito bem colocado em cena. linda foto, parabéns

bien captado el búfalo solitario en medio de la marisma, que es el protagonista de tu foto, pero el paisaje tan verde ayuda también a crear una composición muy vistosa.

wow, que inetresante nota nno sabia qu ehabia queso de bufalo y menos la historia de estos animales.
Me gusto la toma, el pasto verde que se conjunt con le agua y su refeljo ademas de la soledad que se da y lo espacioso del terreno al fonde agua y palmeras que foto tan buena en verdad supiste captar muy bien esta foto.

While I lived in Kumanovo I've seen buffalo who maintained a domestic animal for the people.

Olá Lucas, meio milhão de búfalos é um número apreciável. Sempre gostei do ar possante desses bichos. Bonita captura desse pasto que mais parece uma sopa de caldo verde :) A luz não parece muito favorável mas o brilho da água criou um efeito interessante na paisagem. Gosto do grafismo daquela linha com a cerca lá atrás.

In Asia it's the water buffalo who goes into the swamp. Cows generally prefer dry land. As longer as I watch your shot, I'm more sure that is a water buffalo and not a cow, o.k. both are in the same family. You should see the water buffaloes, when they are deep in the water that only their heads look out, they look so funny! Good educational shot, well done. Je suppose que cette photo a été prise lors de la saison des pluies !
Le buffle a les pieds dans l'eau et doit chercher sa nourriture dans ces prés inondés.
L'image est parfaitement rendue.

il lui faut des pattes solides pour rester de si longs moments dans l'eau. Une photo reposante, j'aime bien voir les animaux, ils nous rappellent comme tu le sais, qu'ils font partie du patrimoine terrestre au mêm titre que nous, qui ne respectons plus rien.
